How to Remove a Document from Activity View in Google Drive (Updated 6/17/13)

Gooru Tip - Maximize the video player and adjust video quality for optimal viewing!

The ‘Activity’ view in Drive shows you everything that has been recently edited. This would include anything that you’ve created and anything that has been shared with you. Any file you don’t want to look at can be simply removed.

1. From Drive, click on the ‘More’ dropdown menu and select ‘Activity’.

2. Select the file(s) you wish to remove.

3. Click on ‘More’ and then choose ‘Don’t Show in Activity list’.

* Anything removed from the ‘Activity’ view will not be deleted, you will still be able to find it in ‘All items’.

  1. ‘Drive’ (no longer Documents) does not have the right click option ‘do not show in home folder’. This takes away many of the reasons we like Docs, I hope it’s an oversight and fixed SOON.

    • Hi Bill – Thanks for your comment, you just made me realize I need to update this video. Hard to keep up with Google :)

In Drive, this is now called “Don’t Show in Activity List”. You can get to it by right-clicking on the item, or selecting the checkbox to the left of the item and then click the “More” dropdown at the top of the Activity list.
