How to change the logo in Gmail

Gooru Tip - Maximize the video player and adjust video quality for optimal viewing!

This video describes how to change the logo in Google Apps to a custom logo.

First, you must be an administrator on the domain, and your logo has to be formatted correctly. Google accepts .png, .jpg, and .gif files. They must be under 20kb in size and 143×59 pixels or less. Using different dimensions can cause your logo to be stretched. To upload your logo:

  1. Click Settings on right hand side of Gmail
  2. Choose Manage this domain
  3. Click the Domain settings tab
  4. Click the Appearance tab
  5. Select Custom logo
  6. Upload your file

  1. thank you so much dear. couldn’t find it using google help.

  2. We`ve been using that for long time, but recently I found out that users that use iExplorer have stretched logo. On other browsers (FF, Chrome…) logo is OK.
    size is exact 143×59 .

Why is this happening on IE?
    any solutions to that?

    regards,
    Marko

    • Hey Marko,

That’s an interesting problem, haven’t heard of that before. My first suggestion would be to stop using IE!

But if your users prefer or need IE, then I think a good investigative step would be to use a screen measurement tool so see if the image measures 143×59 on the screen when it comes up in IE. That will give you some indication of at what stage the image is being distorted.

      Thanks,

  3. Hi, I looked under settings and manage this domain isn’t there. Could you please tell me why it isn’t there and how i can get it there.
    please respond,
    kevin

    • Kevin,

This most likely isn’t working for you because you are not designated as an admin for your domain. ‘Manage this Domain’ is limited to admins. Hope that helped!

  4. There no setting option

    • Hi Jishan,

Do you see a “gear” looking icon in the top right hand corner of your Gmail inbox? Clicking that should present you with three options for display density (cozy, comfortable, compact), and below those you should find a link to “Settings”.

Please let me know if you don’t see it.

      Thanks,

    Thanks bro.

    • I have 3 Google Apps accounts up on my screen right now and the logo is loading for all of them.

I know that sometimes after you upload a new image, it takes a little while to be processed and show up in your Gmail, Docs, etc.

But I’m not sure why it would disappear from an account where it was already showing.

  6. This saved me a tonne of time! Cheers!

  7. Nice video.

I have a weird problem. I have my logo on all apps (drive, calendar) but NOT on gmail.
